2. The short version

• The calculation runs in your browser. Your salary data is processed exclusively on your device and never leaves it.
• There is no account and no login.
• This site uses no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts and no cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner.
• Fonts and all other files come from the same address as the page itself. There is no embedded third-party content.
• The site is hosted by a provider in the USA. What that means is in section 3.
• If you buy the plan dossier, we store your email address and the invoice details.

3. When you visit this site

This site is hosted by GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA and served over GitHub Pages. We keep no access logs ourselves, and we have no access to the host's.

For a page to reach you, your IP address is necessarily transmitted to the host. The host logs it and stores it to secure its systems. It does that for its own purposes and on its own responsibility, and it also decides for how long — we cannot set that period and therefore state none here. The legal basis for your IP address becoming known to the host when you load a page is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is operating this site securely and reliably.

The host is established in the USA, so serving this site is a transfer to a third country (Art. 44 et seq. GDPR). It relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45(1) GDPR), under which the host is certified.

4. In the calculator

What you enter in the calculator — salaries, tax classes, due date, special circumstances — is processed in your browser and not transmitted to us.

Some entries are health data (such as pregnancy, due date or maternity protection) or reveal religious affiliation (church tax). Before these entries, the calculator asks for your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the entries.

The calculator only saves a plan when you press the button to do so — and then only in your browser's storage on this device. If you clear your browser data, it is gone.

5. When you buy the plan dossier

For a purchase we process your email address, the invoice details and the order details. We need them to perform the contract, to send you the invoice and the confirmation the law requires, and to meet our statutory retention obligations (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

Payment is handled by WayForPay, whose own privacy information also applies.

We keep this data for eight years from the end of the calendar year in which the order was received.

6. When you withdraw from the contract

You declare your withdrawal by email to [[CONTACT_EMAIL]] or by post to the address in section 1. There is no form for it on this site and nothing about it is processed automatically: your message arrives in our mailbox and a person answers it.

We then process what you write to us — usually your name, the address you wrote to us from, and the details of your order. We need them to match your declaration to your order and to unwind the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and to confirm receipt to you with the date and time (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

We record your withdrawal together with the time it reached us and keep it as evidence for eight years from the end of the calendar year in which the order was received — the same period as the other order data. If a withdrawal reaches us for which we can find no order, we delete the message after seven days.

7. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place. The calculator's results have no legal effect for you; the parental allowance office decides on your Elterngeld.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Write to us at [[CONTACT_EMAIL]].
